If Tiger Woods 09 was the game i was talking about then most certainly not. Although an impressive game on the Xbox 360 and PS3, (see Sony Playstation PS3 Review) I say impressive, that of course goes to people who enjoy playing a golf game over a shooter. This years edition of the game will most certainly tempt me simply because of the new Nintendo technology. Why on earth would I bother to do this? It’s certainly not because I’m saving money on electric golf trolleys that’s for sure. However it is in fact due to Nintendo facing that in fact their motion sensing technology however amazing it is to five year olds, it just doesn’t work as well as it should. Now Nintendo have let their fans down a lot over the last couple of years with their useless family games that really do not appeal to the fans at all but, with the new MotionPlus part that connects to the bottom of the Wii remote the games will actually start to respond in the way that it should.
This surely makes playing golf games such as Tiger Woods 10 perfect for when it’s a bit stormy out and there is no way your favourite course is going to be open. You get to feel al the stress of a real golfer by deciding on what club to choose, what the wind direction is and how hard you actually have to hit the ball.
The new game which is due out later this year will sell more than than last years edition that much is certain. Being rubbish at golf myself should mean that I would be equally as bad at Tiger Woods but it makes it a lot easier than the real thing and even if you do find yourself failing then you still have the safety knowing that only you and your family will see you fail rather than the whole golf course. As an added bonus you can shout as loud as you want without some old guy moaning at you for being too loud! Although watching someone fail to hit the ball very far on the Wii will be amusing it certainly will not be anywhere close to when I was an assistant greenkeeper at my local golf course and took great pleasure in watching some of the golfers fail miserably.
The best thing of all is that you no longer have to charge golf batteries up, just walk into the room, pick up the remote and have a game!
